TFG1Mike 365 2025 Day 21:
Band Names From Your Name!
Hello all and welcome back to TFG1Mike 365! When I started this in January of 2019, the idea was for me to write something, anything, once a day for 365 days. You can find all the blogs over at FROM THE DESK OF TFG1Mike!
Today revolves around something I saw in my Facebook memories… This image was shared years ago….. Have no idea who made it. This all ties back into my love of music, which I wrote about last year, and you can read that right HERE!
Mike & The Mechanics – I have two favorites from this band. The Living Years and All I Need Is A Miracle!
Incubus – I have lots of favorites from these guys, but let’s go with Dig! Plus I love the Vitamin String Quartet instrumental version of Dig as well!
Kelly Clarkson – Dark Side has always been a go to favorite.
Eddie Money – There are two or three that I really love, but the number one is Two Tickets To Paradise!
Black Stone Cherry – This is rough! Because BSC is my #1 band of all time, picking one favorite song…. It changes constantly, but for this time, I’ll choose You Can Have It All!
Live – There are so many to choose from here as well. But for me with how I’ve been feeling lately… my go to listen for the last little while is a track from their 2001 album “V”. That track is Overcome. It was a song we all needed in the wake of 9/11.
Alan Jackson – Chattahoochee (Extended Version) – It’s the only choice for me, because that was my number one listen in the 90s when I was living in Simpsonville, KY!
Nickelback – YEAH YEAH whatever! Out of the nearly 30 year career NB has had… 30 Years next year in 2026….. My choice here is from a specific 2003 memory. February 14, 2003 Daredevil was released in theaters and Nickelback’s Learn The Hard Way was in the film. I’ll tell the story on a different day this year, but that’s my choice!
Creed – Higher! It was the first song that turned me onto the band, as it was used in a Titan A.E. trailer.
Hall & Oates – I’m kinda cheating here using the combined name. And Daryl Hall would probably chastise me for it, but it was the only way to have all my favorite bands in my name! – The choice here is simple OUT OF TOUCH The Club Version or Extended Version…. whatever they call it!
Annie Lennox – Waiting In Vain! – A Bob Marley Cover! – It all goes back to 2001 and the film Serendipity! You can watch the video to the song HERE! I went back and re listened to the original Marley track, and I’m soooo glad Ms. Lennox decided to cover it, because I like her version the best!
REO Speedwagon – Can’t Fight This Feeling!!! REO has always been a favorite, but this song, just hits me right in the heart when I hear it.
David Hasselhoff – You expected nothing less right? And for me at this moment it can only be the duet he did with Catherine Hickland! Our First Night Together! You can watch the 1984 performance HERE!
Anyone wanna play along ?
Well what did you think of Day 21’s entry? Sound off in the comments!
