The GCRN respects intellectual property rights and follows the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

This policy explains how to report copyright infringement and how The GCRN processes claims.

1. Reporting Copyright Infringement

To report infringing material:

Your notice must include:

  1. Your full legal name and signature,

  2. Identification of the copyrighted work,

  3. Exact URL of the infringing content,

  4. Your contact information,

  5. A good faith statement that the use is unauthorized,

  6. A statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate.

2. The GCRN’s Response

Once a valid DMCA notice is received, The GCRN will:

  1. Investigate the claim,

  2. Remove or disable the infringing content,

  3. Notify the party responsible for the material,

  4. Allow for a counter-notice if they believe the material was wrongly removed.

3. Counter-Notification Process

If your content was removed in error:

  • Email a counter-notice to dmca@geekcastradio.com including:

    1. Your name, address, phone, and email,

    2. Identification of the removed content and its prior location,

    3. A good faith statement that the removal was a mistake,

    4. Consent to jurisdiction in Weld County, Colorado,

    5. Your signature (physical or digital).

If the original claimant does not file a court action within 10 business days, the material may be restored.

4. AI-Generated Content and Music

The GCRN uses AI-assisted tools to generate some creative content, including:

  • Podcast background music,

  • Sound effects,

  • Marketing and design elements.

AI tool providers used include:

  • Canva (licensed assets),

  • ChatGPT,

  • Copilot,

  • Gemini,

  • Suno (licensed AI music).

AI-generated materials are:

  • Reviewed by human team members before use,

  • Combined with original and licensed content,

  • Used in compliance with applicable licensing terms.

If you believe an AI-generated asset infringes your rights, submit a DMCA notice as described above.

5. No Payment Demands Without DMCA Notice

The GCRN will not respond to payment demands or settlement offers before a proper DMCA notice has been submitted.
