The World Is Not Enough 2 Disc Limited Edition – Album Review!
Hello all and welcome to a NEW Daily Blog series from me… TFG1Mike! The idea here is for me to write something, anything, once a day for 365 days. From January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026. In my 111th entry of 2026, I’ll be talking about the film score to The World Is Not Enough!
La La Land Records released this in November 27, 2018, and I can’t believe it has taken me this long to get to it. I LOVE The BROSNAN ERA BOND films THAT is MY Bond Era I GREW UP with GOLDENEYE, TOMORRROW NEVER DIES, THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH, AND DIE ANOTHER DAY! I was 15, 17, 19, and 22 years old when each of those films were released respectively.
The POINT is I LOVE this film. In turn I love the David Arnold score to the film. Are you ready for Q’s final outing? As well as the disc art here:

And so now that we have that outta the way…. let’s get into this, shall we?!
Getting into David Arnold’s score here… There are 46 tracks here, 35 of the 46 tracks are the film’s score presentation. Tracks 35-45 are listed as “additional music” on Disc 2, and they include demo, original, and alternate versions of tracks that are on the soundtrack already, plus so much more!
I am having to go back and re watch the film for certain scenes for certain cues. I’m not complaining here, but I need to remember the scenes and bring my brain up to speed with the music!
And as The Bond films have left Netflix as of this writing and publication of this review 4-21-26… I wrote this on 4-19-26, when the films were still on Netflix. So I just finished watching The World Is Not Enough. I do enjoy the film, but that enjoyment only goes up to when Q gives his final goodbye. After that I like the film, I don’t love it. The action is great, the characters are good. Brosnan as Bond is awesome, but the pacing for me … it’s just too damn slow in the middle of the film. The music is wonderful though. So let’s get into that shall we?
Track 1: “Gun Barrel/Bond Has Left The Building”: I love this opening track, it sets everything up so well. Around the 2 minute mark is when I think Bond steals the fishing boat… Oh yeah that’s it. Because the Bond theme kicks in there, and dang, but the beginning of this track with the Bond theme mixed, and then the maracas, and more. I just love this opening, and that’s why this is one of my favorite tracks from this film score!!
Track 2: “Show Me The Money”: No this is not 1996, and Rod Tidwell is not here! This ain’t Jerry Maguire! This is James Bond, and the ransom for King’s daughter Elektra! This tune starts off very weird, almost like a shrieking alarm, but then gets into some big brass elements that I like. After that it slows down, and speeds back up in two notes. The tension in the music is what’s needed for the scene, this is how it’s done! Just amazing!
Track 3: “Come in 007, Your Time Is Up”: So this is the boat chase scene! I almost thought it was still part of track 2, that’s how seamlessly they fit together. At about the 0:30 to the 0:32 mark there is a sound effect under the music that I desperately want to isolate, because I think it’s so damn cool. Just amazing!
Track 5: “The World Is Not Enough” – Garbage: Back in 1999 and even now, I’ve never been the biggest fan of the band Garbage. However they did an amazing job on the title song for the film. From the end of the Balloon track, flowing into this title track… it works so well. The title sequence was so cool in this film, and just like with the previous two Bond films in the Brosnan era… this does fit so well. I’m just not sure I’d have this song on any of my other playlists!
Track 7: “Access Denied”: This feels like it’s a Bond and Q track, but it’s not. The opening 1 second not almost feels like a streaming service startup sound LOL! It’s not obviously, but I thought I’d make that observation. The rest of the tune feels like sneaky sneaky time for Bond, after all the track is called Access Denied!
Track 25: “Caviar Factory (Extended Version)”: Bond, Valentine, and Dr. Jones… Oh yeah, plus the BMW! Then we get helicopters with saw blades… YIKES!! The bombastic sounds in this track, I absolutely love it!! The mix of everything, there’s so much here!! I was waiting for when the bond theme would kick in, and when it does… Ohhh boy, it mixes with the other elements, yet stands out as it should.
Track 45: “The World Is Not Enough (DEMO)” – David Arnold: Well this was very interesting hearing Mr. Arnold sing the title track! I definitely like the Garbage version better.
Final Thoughts: TWINE is an amazing action film, and for Brosnan’s third outing as James Bond it’s superb! David Arnold’s score here is high action with some slow moments as well. However as I’ve listened through this score, I don’t find myself feeling like I can recommend this as much as I did the Tomorrow Never Dies Score! I like the film, I like the music outside the film, but I like maybe 5 tracks out of the entire score, whereas on TND I liked maybe 12 tracks outside the film… I’m very picky, and particular about my film music in and outside the films I watch and listen to. TWINE is not a BAD score or film, I just felt as I listened to this album that I wasn’t as connected as I thought I would be. If you are a film score fan and you are a JAMES BOND fan, you’ll wanna add this to your collection any way you can! Sadly the physical CD at La-La Land Records is SOLD OUT, but you can add it to your Wishlist on their site right HERE! Ya never know when it might come back in stock for a limited time, since next year is the 30th Anniversary of the film. One can only hope right?
We have brought back The GCRN Universal Ratings System in a BRAND NEW BRANDING!!! It’s The GCRN GEEK METER! And my rating for this CD soundtrack release is:

Join me next time when I’ll be writing about something! <— I’ve stopped putting tomorrow or the dates here, because I dunno if I’m gonna write the next day or not. I’ve WANTED to write more this year but, things just are a bit too overwhelming! However the year ain’t over yet… And I’m tryin’ mah best!
