15 Years of TFG1Mike on YouTube!

Hello all and welcome to a NEW Daily Blog series from me… TFG1Mike! The idea here is for me to write something, anything, once a day for 365 days. From January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024. In my 276th entry, I’ll be talking about how I’m a Podcaster, not a YouTuber!!!! Yet I’ve been doing videos on YouTube here and there for the past 15 years! You can see my first FIVE SECOND video right HERE! The only reason why I’m even writing this is because of the above image that YouTube sent me! 

I think I started watching YouTube videos in early 2006, I honestly can’t remember. And looking through my watch history, it says it started December 17, 2010…. that can’t be right if I started my channel October 2, 2009!!! You can go to my channel right HERE! The banner needs to be updated, but the rest is where I want it to be. 

I remember when YouTube was quick vids… anywhere from one to ten minutes. Not these NINE hour streams! It sure has changed in 15 years since I first truly was watching stuff on YouTube. And back then there was no Movies and TV section, with actually legal copies of films and shows on the platform. There used to be a “message creator” inbox and everything. The changes over the last 15 years are numerous. Some good, some not so good. 

If there was one video recently that I’ve done over the last few years, it’s the one that’s above! I’d like to see that get more attention! I watch more YouTube than I do my own vids. There are many creators on there that I love watching! I will highlight them all in a separate post. My drive to be a podcaster is what I assume YT creator’s drive is… grind it until you get where you wanna be. In 15 years I’ve only uploaded 291 videos, meanwhile on the podcast side, GeekCast Radio Network is just under 4,000 pieces of published audio content!
