The Adventures of Raggedy Ann and Andy

Episode 1: The Perriwonk Adventure

Synopsis:
In the Perriwonk Adventure, Raggedy Andy and Raggedy Dog, take a locket and chain that Marcella had put around Raggedy Cat and bury it in the yard. When they go back to retrieve it, it is no longer there and the group set out to find it. This took them into another world where they came across the Perriwonks, a group of half anteater, half crocodile creatures and a dragon named Cinge who traded all of his gold for cranberries. We are introduced to Cracklin and his minions who are sending cranberries to Cinge in order to get all of the gold including the locket. The raggedy bunch discover that Cinge is a friendly dragon and enlist his help in retrieving the locket and freeing some of the Perriwonks that Cracklin had imprisoned. In the end, the group obtains the locket and heads back to Marcella’s house safe and sound.

Episode 2: The Pirate Adventure

Synopsis:
In the Pirate Adventure, Fido, Marcella’s dog knock a ball out of their yard, Raggedy Dog goes after it leading him to a beach where 2 pirates have appreheded Mickey the Leprechaun and his pirate map. Raggedy Dog, returns to the group, not knowing he had the map en tow. The group decides to use the map in order to try to find the treasure after they are peer pressured by Jack (in the Box). The group consists of Andy, Ann, Grouchy Bear and Raggedy Dog, who had all just been washed by Marcella and were easily tracked by Marcella’s perfume.
The pirates take Raggedy Andy and sail for the treasure leaving Ann and Bear and Dog in the cabin with Mickey the Leprechaun. Mickey is able to free himself and the quartet take a small boat and head for the pirate ship. The two pirates take off with Andy as they search the island for treasure and run into a handful of obstacles in the meantime. They even come across the remains of two tooth Tommy. The pirates find the pot of gold and Andy is determined to take it so he can prove to Jack how tough he is. He throws some seaweed at them and grabs the pot of gold but ends up falling into the hole the pirates had dug, allowing the pirates to take off with the gold as the hole fills with some water, as well as the skull of Tommy that the pirates threw down. The rest of our Raggedy bunch finally reach the island and search for where Mickey had buried the gold.
The group are able to rescue Andy and with the help of Mickey’s magic, put together a ghostly rouse to scare the pirates into abandoning the treasure believing they had been cursed by Mickey. Mickey then sails away with the treasure to hide it again. He leaves Ann with a lucky 4-leaf clover and Andy a gold coin. The group return to the house and Andy goes to show Jack his gold coin, Jack has just been washed and is not thrilled about it.

Episode 3: The Mabbit Adventure

Synopsis:
The episode begins with Marcella reading a letter from her penpal which prompts Bunny to let the gang know that she has a penpal, Lorelei. A bird, delivers a letter to Sunny Bunny on cue, but the letter states that she is in trouble in the Mabbit Land. The gang heads to help. In Mabbit Land we ecounter the village assembling together vowing to protect their long held secret book. Cracklin and his minions show up to take it from them. The Raggedy bunch show up as well but not before Tick and Tack kidnap the Mabbit Elder. Before Cracklin can use a spell to force the elder to reveal the book’s location, the Elder casts a spell that causes all of the Mabbits including himself to be in a state of freeze. The Raggedy’s attempt to find the elder but are captured by Tick and Tack and put in a cell with the frozen elder.
They soon discover that the pen that they have been using for the letters is magical and it starts giving them directions by writing them messages on various objects. It leads them back to the Mabbit village and to the secret book. Upon opening the book, the spell is lifted but the Mabbit elder is upset that they’ve exposed the book. Cracklin, Tick and Tack arrive to try to take the book but the Raggedy’s get the best of him by throwing a clump of Grouchy Bears fur at him causing his allergies to act up and allowing the gang to save the day for the Mabbit village.

Episode 4: The Beastly Ghost Adventure

Synopsis:
The episode begins with Marcella telling a story to the raggedy bunch about a beastly ghost. She is called for dinner and tells the gang that she’ll have to finish the story later. Later that night the group is jumpy as they endure a storm while hanging out in their beds. Grouchy Bear goes outside to check things out and is spooked by what he claims is a ghost that he saw in the playroom. The group all heads there to check it out. The group encounter the Beastly Ghost in the playroom. The Camel with the Wrinkled Knees disappears and while the group looks for him they fall through some sort of portal which takes them to a place filled with scares, such as, the headless horseman, bats, and scary sounds. They discover a pain trail that leads them to Camel and the Beastly Ghost. Raggedy Ann discovers that the Beastly Ghost is the same ghost from Marcella’s story at the beginning of the episode and that he is after a whistle. While hanging from the tree the Raggedy bunch discover that they had the whistle the Ghost was looking for the whole time. A chase ensues as well as a game of hide and seek. They make their way back to the playroom and discover the book from which the story originates. They come to the conclusion that they need to use the book and the whistle to get Beastly back to where he belongs. They end up all being pulled into the story except for Grouchy Bear and interacting with Rebecca and Jonathan from the beginning of Marcella’s story. They discover that they must blow the whistle three times in order to make the ghost disappear, they leave the whistle and the book where the kids can discover it and Rebecca makes the ghost disappear.
Grade: 3.5/5 (Perhaps too scary for kids though)
Episode 5: The Pixling Adventure

Synopsis:
This episode belongs with Marcella putting four of the gang into a stroller, dressed as babies. She has to go to a picnic though so she leaves the toys for now. The Raggedy’s come across a baby and are trying to figure out what to do with it. They discover it has a crown and must be a prince of some sort. When they shake what they think is a rattle they see a scene in which Prince Luke is put in a basket, Moses style by a lady. They first encounter Ratchet and Dirk who have been sent from Count Gerrick to capture the would be King, but with the help of the Mapgies (a group of flowers), they are able to avoid capture. We then see Count Gerrick who brings in the services of Stalker to hunt the Raggedy Bunch and Prince Luke down. Stalker is able to capture some of the group and delay them from getting back to the castle at first. Then, just as the Count is trying to lay claim to the thrown, our heroes arrive with Luke in hand and allow him to take his place as the new King.

Episode 6: The Ransom of Sunny Bunny Adventure

Synopsis:
We start the episode off with Fido taking Sunny Bunny with him as he romps outside of the yard. Tick and Tack come on the scene and grab Sunny Bunny and take off with the stuffed rabbit. We then see Cracklin anticipating winning a Wizard and Witch cook-off but is confronted by Minx who states that she will win like she does every year. Cracklin needs the hair of a dog for his potion but the minions have brought back Sunny Bunny instead. Cracklin has hope though as he knows the Raggedy’s will come for the Bunny including Raggedy Dog. Both Cracklin and Minx begin a race to get the hair of the dog while the Raggedy’s are on the search for Sunny Bunny and Raggedy Dog. In the end Cracklin is thwarted by trying to fend off the Raggedy’s as well as Minx.

Episode 7: The Megamite Adventure

Synopsis:
The episode begins as Marcella’s cousin David invades the room with his new toy, Megamite. After his batteries fizzled out, David went to get more allowing Megamite and the Raggedy bunch to interact. Andy, comes up with the idea that Megamite could help them with Cracklin and Megamite heads out on his mission. Megamite runs into a tree knocking himself out and bringing out two water sprite guards. They let the gang know that Cracklin is trying to steal all of their water. Eventually, the Raggedy’s come across the rest of the water Sprites led by Trickle and quickly after Cracklin, Tick and Tack show up as well and take many of the water sprites captive.
Cracklin has Tick and Tack make up a truth potion to make the Sprites talk, but they accidentally make it a love potion and Cracklin let’s they all go free. The sprites trapped Cracklin in the cave but while they were celebrating Megamite breaks open the rock in front of the cave. He also tell Cracklin that the water can be changed into silver. Megamite ends up screwing up a number of other things as well. Without the water the Sprites cannot survive so they need to turn all the silver Cracklin stole, back into water. Eventually, Megamite does something right and helps get all of the water back to save the sprites.

Episode 8: The Boogeyman Adventure

Synopsis:
The episode begins with Marcella tucking in the Raggedy’s and letting them know that the Boogeyman never comes when the light is on, so they are safe. Andy can’t sleep with the nightlight so he insists on shutting it off to the dismay of the others. A figure crawls out from under their bed and makes a bee line out of the house. The gang tries to catch him. After catching him in a garbage can, he lets them know that he is a boogeykid and a spell he said brought him there. Ann told him to reverse the spell to take him back but he ended taking them all back to his land. There we meet Cody’s sorceress friend, Helena. While Cody shows the gang around, Andy and Raggedy Dog break off to look at a sword. (Arthur’s Sword in the Stone Storyline). The two run into Tick and Tack trying to remove the sword from the stone and they Hang Andy and Dog on a statue and take the Sword of Destiny to Cracklin. Andy and Dog free themselves and let Cody know what happened. The three villains are unable to remove the sword but Cracklin thinks that Cody will be able to break it free and goes in search of him. Cracklin is successful in getting hold of Cody while the rest of the gang gets trapped in a snake tree. Helena shows up to help them but is also captured by Tick and Tack at first. Eventually Crackling through Cody, is able to pull the sword which unleashes the real Boogeyman and it is up to Cody to live up to his destiny and save the day.

Episode 9: The Christmas Adventure

Synopsis:
The episode begins with the Raggedy bunch sitting next to the Christmas tree as Marcella leaves to deliver presents. As they go to delivery presents to Lorelei and the Mabbits, they see two elves drop in who report that Santa’s sleigh and presents have been stolen (obviously by Cracklin), so the Raggedy’s set out to find the culprit along with the elves and Sunny Bunny’s magic pen. Raggedy Ann notices some Cranberries and suspects they are int he land of the Perriwonks in Cranberry Knoll. We then, get confirmation that Cracklin, Tick and Tack have stolen Santa’s sleigh and presents. We see the gang meeting up with Cinge to try to get some help on their quest. We then see Tick and Tack crash into the Perriwonks. (Cookie, Wally, Falstaff). After Cracklin knocks the group out of the sky, the Pixlings show up and take Cynge away to help him get mended up. They let the Raggedy’s borrow their hay wagon to go after the toys. While the villains tend to the toys the reindeer break free and run/fly away. The treasure finder next takes the group to Cracklin’s lair. The Raggedy’s dress up like Santa to distract Cracklin while the elves get the toys back. Cracklin’s allergic reaction causes him to sneeze and uncover the Raggedy’s but not before the elves have loaded up all of the toys. Ann, Andy and Sunny Bunny throw snowballs at Cracklin while Camel and the Elves make their escape. With the help of Christmas magic, Camel is able to fly like a reindeer and make it to safety as the reindeer return with a load of coal for our baddies.

Episode 10: The Sacred Cat Adventure

Synopsis:
The episode begins with Marcella trying to get a flea collar onto Fido. The gang comes to life and sees Fido digging a huge hole in the yard. They go to the yard to fill in the hole and find a lamp and a Genie who kidnaps Raggedy Cat. They follow the Genie through a portal like phenomena and end up in what looks like ancient Egypt. Running from an Egyptian guard they come across Princess Clea who is holding Raggedy Cat since the Egyptians hold cat’s in such high regard. The Genie had completed Clea’s final wish by bringing the cat to her so now he was under the rule of Raggedy Cat. They meet with Clea and find out that Clea and her twin sister Nephra are battling for the Royal Sceptor and rightful heir to the thrown. They must past through the tombs to get to the pyramid and find the sceptor which creates some obstacles for them to get past. From there it turns into the typical Indiana Jones quest.

Episode 11: The Little Chicken Adventure

Synopsis:
Marcella is dressed up like a Unicorn and getting ready for a unicorn parade. After Marcella leaves, Tally-Ho becomes real with the magic of the unicorn. As they run after Tally-Ho, Little Chicken used a golden lasso to steal the unicorn horn. Little Chicken let’s them know that his golden lasso is the only thing in the world that can keep the unicorn from teleporting. Then they run across two Unicorn Poachers who are stealing all the unicorn horns. They are trying to get the Great White unicorn but the Raggedy Bunch and Tally-Ho aim to stop them. (not sure about the unicorn horns being removed that easily – also mostly just a chase episode)

Episode 12: The Warrior Star Adventure

Synopsis:
Marcella begins the episode playing with a pretty cool looking set of toys in her room. After she leaves the room the gang is transported to the Planet Mizola, the realm of the toy figures. First, they run into the evil Wizard Ludlum who takes the horn of power from the Raggedys. Ludlum hypnotizes Camel. They find themselves in the middle of a battle between Ludlum and Princess Astra in a very star wars esque adventure (Complete with an asteroid field hide and seek sequence.) Ultimately, the Raggedy’s are able to obtain the horn for Princess Astra and free her people.

Episode 13: The Magic Wings Adventure

Synopsis:
The episode begins with Marcella putting up a bird feeder which yields a giant purple egg once the gang comes to life. They climb up a tree to find Trollit, the Keeper of the Egg. Trollit and two Grunges (birds) are all fighting over the egg and trying to take it from the Raggedy’s. Trollit tricks the gang into handing the egg over and then sicks two giant monsters on them. They realize that Trollit was the bad guy and the Grunge’s were the good guys. Trollit aims to claim the Magic Coat of Wings instead of allowing the Grungling to have it once he hatches. He enlists the help of Garzong and Gruzeffa against the Raggedy’s and the Grunges. In the end the Gang is able to pull a switcheroo on Trollit and susbtitute a fake set of magic wings in its place and get the rightful coat to the little grungling.
