Back on Day 344 of 2023 I wrote about POETRY GLASS! And Today on January 5, 2024 we have the full 8 track album from Peyton Parrish! This is SOUL!!!!  

Hello all and welcome to a NEW Daily Blog series from me… TFG1Mike! The idea here is for me to write something, anything, once a day for 365 days. From January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024. In my 5th  entry for 2023 I’ll be starting the new year with music! (Honestly were you expecting anything less?)

Even though it’s only 8 tracks, SOUL from Peyton Parrish is amazing! The crazy thing is that I really only dig half of the album. Poetry Glass, Stuck In The Dark, Fist Into The Air, and I’m Still Here. Those are my top 4 tracks, and Poetry Glass will always be number one! The other four tracks are, Fallen Angel, Cavity, Refuse It All, and KABOOM! They are good, but not my favorites!

And I kinda forgot that I’m Still Here was the Treasure Planet song. The crazy thing is I don’t think I’ve ever seen that Disney film. I know Peyton does Disney covers, and they are amazing, but that just slipped my mind. Listening to these eight tracks I feel the album starts and finishes well, and the songs that are in the middle are good, it will just depend on your tastes when it comes to the heavier stuff. There’s no denying how good Peyton Parrish is, and the way he mixes the heavy parts with the smooth soulfulness of his voice is wonderful. Listening to Cavity now as I’m writing this, and it is catching my ear a bit more. However not as much as the other tracks I’ve mentioned.

At the end of the day I walked away happy with this, and I’m looking forward to whatever Mr. Parrish does next!
