Hello all and welcome to my continuing Daily Blog series from me TFG1Mike. This is TFG1MIKE 365!! And it The idea here is for me to write something, anything, once a day for 365 days. From January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024. In my 152nd entry, I’ll be talking about Nick Arcade’s mascot gamer Mikey! As well as my idea for The GeekCast Radio Network to have a mascot in Mikey The Microphone!

Mikey The Microphone!

So this’ll be a short write up, because Steve “Megatron” shut this idea down fast! LOL!! However the idea was that we at The GCRN have a mascot, and what’s a better mascot for a podcast network and website than a microphone. I was scrambling my brain cells one day, trying to remember the name of the damn show Mikey came from… Then it hit me like a ton of bricks! It was Nick Arcade. I was always watching this show, because it was only the second time in my life that I saw game show contestants sucked into a video game. The first time I saw that was Video Power! Holey Moley! Nick Arcade debuted in 1992, and Video Power! ended it’s 2 season run in 1992. I could’ve sworn Video Power was a bit earlier, but I guess not! Anyways, I always loved that the contestants on Nick Arcade were controlling Mikey, the animated video game adventurer! Since my name is Michael/Mike/Mikey… Mikey The Microphone was gonna be a microphone version of my personality, that would be in the background of any pod art, banners etc… of podcasts that I was on. I also had the idea that he would say some of my catch phrases every once in awhile…. Like I said above, Steve shot that idea down fast. However I still bought the image above of the neon purple microphone, and I’ll use it here and there in the future.
