Hello all and welcome to my continuing Daily Blog series from me TFG1Mike. This is TFG1MIKE 365!! And it The idea here is for me to write something, anything, once a day for 365 days. From January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024. It’s Day 105 features a discussion on how good creativity comes on the cusp of chaos!
When I’m in the deep end of creating something, I laser focus in on it, and don’t pay attention to anything else. The audio editing I did on our Top 100 Transformers Characters Countdown is a perfect example of this. If you’ve listened to any of my podcasts and the shows we do here at The GCRN since that countdown was completed, you’ll know that it took me 100 hours of work to get that 6 part series done. That project ended up being just shy of 12 hours of published audio! I was in the zone, and whyyyy?? You might ask, well because it was TRANSFORMERS!!!!!! The GCRN was built on our love of the TRANSFORMERS franchise! Even though I say it was “work” that isn’t a complaint at all. Every piece of assembling the 6 part podcast series was a fun thing to do for me. Now….
Let’s go back shall we… To January 23 of 2010! MWIRE/ Movie Week In Review the flagship movie discussion podcast here on The GCRN was in full swing, however planning for the podcast began right here in my DVD shelves back then:
These are all the movies and TV shows on DVD I owned back then, and it over anything else was what I used to pre plan and make the MWIRE schedule in the beginning. I think I had the first 100 episodes of the podcast thought out as far as what films we would cover. Now they might not all have made it into the first 100 episodes, but I am all about making road maps, and going from there.
The first 50 episodes were a fast list!

Wow! I remember Steve and I would trade off suggestions, and I just wrote them all down! There were 50 more episodes as you may know, but we also did specials and stuff, so I’m not gonna list them all here! It was just crazy back then!
Ever since I was a kid in the 80s, I always had creativity in me. From playing with my action figures, to reading books, and more. I always had my imagination going and going like the Energizer Bunny! I’ve always been able to have my imagination at the forefront of my feelings. When I would read the Hardy Boys Casefiles novels, I would imagine myself as Joe Hardy, mainly because that character LOVED Bacon Cheeseburgers! When I was really little and I would read the Berenstain Bears books, I would always imagine myself as Brother…. Even though in real life I’m an only child. Because I was reading everything I could, I eventually had a dream of becoming a writer.
After all those years, I look back on 7-10 year old Mike between 1987 and 1990… and think, kid if you could see where we are now. Later this year I plan on writing an entry into TFG1Mike 365 all about how it’s been 30 years since I really started writing when I was 14 years old in 1994, but for now I’ll say that I have always been a person who’s creativity was always on overload. Sometimes I just didn’t know or have a place to implement that creativity.
Between writing and podcasting though, I’d say my creativity has had a good home all these years later. You’ll hear more about what drives our creativity between Steve/Megatron and I later in the month on GCR EP 336! For now though I have to run and get creative with more daily blogging!
