  1. If you are looking for ways to sell bonus episodes you can use band camp. I know a great deal of podcasts that put bonus episodes there. Thecrappy part is you have to release them in chunks but you can also pay what you want. If the bonus content is good enough I don’t have an issue paying a dollar here or there.

    1. I prefer the App approach. Where I can get all the content including bonus content in one spot. As long as the app works well and doesn’t crash that is.

      1. I’d rather us sell an app that allows streaming of the podcasts …. then selling the podcasts themselves lol Apps are great!!!!

    2. Will look into it. The only thing is I’d be more apt to go for the app approach except the previous one the GCRN had kinda sucked and I lack the know how to do a good app. It’s an idea anyhow and who knows what the future will bring.

    3. Phew, I was worried that part of the episode wouldn’t go over well, I almost asked Steve to edit it out:)

      1. As long as the main show stays free and the bonus content is
good I wouldn’t have an issue.

  2. I have mixed feelings when it comes to paying for podcasts. People asking for donations. Fine I see that. I honestly don’t tend to give money just because I listen to so many that if I did I would be broke. Bonus episodes that’s also not a big deal. I have had some issues when some podcasts that started out free tried to move to a subscription based system. Kevin Pollack’s chat show, which is probably my favorite podcast, tried to do that a few years ago when it was free forever. With the backlash they got they adjusted that model. So as long as paying for it is either through donations or extra content I think its fair. When people try to change what has already been free to a pay system I get annoyed. Not saying that is what you were doing, just adding my two cents.

    1. Thanks for the honesty on it! We will NEVER charge for our shows. Maybe bonus things like commentaries, etc or a streaming app for all our shows but that would be it. I would rather pickup advertisers than make the listeners pay for something they enjoy interacting with. Again not going to sell out either. Thanks for the input!

  3. I find it hard to ever watch a live podcast or radio show. I prefer to listen to them on my leisure and rarely listen to everything in one sitting. Like podcasts to me make boring this better. Working, driving, or just background noise.

    1. Glad to hear it! Well when we do make a Live show of it, it will be moreso for discussions on the topics as we progress. However it’d still be released as a regular podcast like usual. So no worries there for that part of it.

    2. Yea I am the same way. Wouldn’t have huge interest in a live show honestly. Just too hard to plan around. I prefer my media on demand. Whether it be TV, movies, or podcast.

    3. See I thought so myself but I find that I’m watching more stuff on Youtube and Ustream now on myTV than actual TV shows. I do watch a lot of video podcasts live. Not many audio ones though.
